GCU Intermediate Admission on Basis of Kinship.

 Kinship

Seats shall be reserved for the candidates whose close relatives are at the time of admission studying in the University or have been students of this institution. The allocation of seats for different groups shall be determined by the Admission Committee. Kinship relations include the following:

 • Parents, grandparents (both paternal and maternal), real brothers and sisters.

• Each candidate shall have to produce documentary evidence to this effect. Admission on a kinship basis will be according to the following procedure:

Marks will be awarded to the candidates according to the following formula for admission on a kinship basis:

When students apply for admission to the university, their marks obtained in the SSC/O'Level/equivalent examinations are converted into decimals.

To determine the merit or how well a student performed, their converted marks are added to the marks awarded based on kinship and marks obtained in the interview.

For example, let's say a student got 693 marks in their SSC exams. These marks will be converted into a decimal form, which would be 69.3. Then, in the interview, they were given 5 marks out of 10. And based on their kinship, they were awarded 8 marks out of 10.

To calculate the final merit, we add these three numbers together: 69.3 + 5 + 8 = 82.3.

So, the final merit of this student would be 82.3. The higher the merit, the better the chances of getting admission to the university.
