Admission in GCU Hostels

If you are a student in the intermediate classes and you want to stay in the hostels provided by the university, there are a few steps you need to follow. First, you need to get an Application Form from the office of the Iqbal Hostel.

Once you have the Application Form, you need to submit it back to the same office. They will keep track of all the applications they receive. The specific time when you can submit the form will be announced and put up on the Notice Boards of Iqbal Hostel and Quaid-e-Azam Hostel.

The hostels have a certain number of rooms available, and they need to decide who gets to stay in them. They do this by following a set of rules called a "policy." They consider things like academic performance, behavior, and other factors to decide who gets admitted. This means that not everyone who applies will be able to stay in the hostels.
It's important to note that admission to the hostel is given for one academic year only. This means that you can stay there for the duration of one year of your studies. However, if during that year, your behavior or conduct is not appropriate or you break the rules of the hostel, the authorities have the right to refuse admission to you in the following year.

Residential Rules

Living in a hostel comes with certain rules that everyone needs to follow.

1. Good Behavior: It's important to always behave well and follow the rules of the hostel. This means being respectful to others and their rights.

2. Prohibited Items: Drinking alcohol, keeping drugs or weapons, and smoking are not allowed in the hostel. If someone is caught doing these things, they will be asked to leave the hostel.

3. Health Conditions: Students with severe mental or physical illnesses that require constant supervision cannot stay in the hostels. This is to ensure their well-being.

4. Respectful Activities: Any religious, social, or political activities that might hurt the feelings of others are not allowed in the hostel.

5. Inspection: The hostel authorities can check the rooms and common areas of the hostel at any time to make sure everything is in order.

6. Mess Membership: Every resident must be a member of the hostel mess, where they can have their meals.

7. Monthly Dues: Residents need to pay their monthly fees by the 10th of each month. If someone doesn't pay on time, they will have to pay an additional fine.

8. Visitors: Only parents or guardians are allowed to visit the hostel. No other guests or outsiders are allowed to enter or stay in the hostel.

9. Holidays and Vacations: The hostel will be closed during holidays or when the university is closed for more than three days.

10. Withdrawal or Expulsion: If someone misbehaves or breaks the rules, they may be asked to leave the hostel. In such cases, they will lose their deposit money.

These are some of the important rules in the hostel. There may be more details in a handbook that is given to residents. It's important to follow all the rules to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for everyone in the hostel.
